My son and I stopped at Julia Bakery, behind the St. Johns Grocery store and 2 blocks from the corner of East 4th Plain and Ft. Vancouver Way. It is a small bakery but the breads have full flavors! There are challah, multi grain breads, cinnamon rolls, pizzas, baked sandwiches (more of calzone style), sweets (cookies, mascarpone tiramisu), scones, etc. :) I was like a kid in a candy store. But I didn't see any croissants this time. I will ask him next time.

The owner was nice and very passionate to make bread from real ingredients. The bakery has been opened for nine months. There is (or will be) a cafe on the top of the bakery too. Finally, there is a nice bakery in Vancouver.

I had a baked sandwich (real prosciutto, cheese and olives), multi grain bread, apple scone, raspberry jam bread, cinnamon roll and tiramisu (total was less than $20). I really don't know the exact names of breads that I bought, but the owner explained what they were.

I haven't tasted everything yet but so far, I like the baked sandwich and multi grain bread. Diced prosciutto has good flavor and saltiness. The crust of the multi grain bread is flavorful. Tiramisu was also nice EDIT: he uses lady fingers. Apple scone was not too sweet but it might be too big for a coffee break.

These are what I bought from Julia Bakery. These products are all organic. But the owner, Mr. Nenad Indic, told me he might change his idea using organic flour because the cost of flour is higher than ever these days. I apologize that you have to click the pics to enlarge. I don't know how to make these bigger.
