According to @OregonianAmyW, Capitol Coffeehouse is closed. Not sure how long that's been the case, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else.

Probably because I no longer pass it everyday on my way to somewhere...

Huh, it was close to my office, and I ate their food twice. $9 for a Cubano that involved grilled onions and no pickles, a very dry tuna sandwich on stale bread for $7. I loved it in the first incarnation as a coffeehouse/magazine stand, but obviously that model didn't work, either.

I have heard that as well from a former tenant.

Wow, major bummer. This was one of my go-to coffee/brunch/lunch places, but hadn't been in for a few weeks.

I noticed there was a menu change about 4 or 5 months back, was a bit unsure about it. Found out last time I was in that, apparently, a couple of 20 year olds who used to work there had bought the coffee shop from previous owners. I'm 23 and can hardly imagine doing that. Perhaps they were more suited to their party production and promotion business (that's supposedly what got them the money to buy the place). I'm really sad about this overall. I'd wanted to go in since they added dinner service again and never made it. Brunch was off since the menu change, but still overall enjoyable. It was a nice neighborhood place and that space is amazing, especially in the summer.
